If I had to give one word to characterize my experience at Mercer Law School, it would be “challenging.” However, with any challenge, there are a lot of rewards. For me, Mercer Advocacy Council (MAC) was probably one of the most rewarding things I’ve done in law school. I don’t think I could have gotten the practical skills it teaches anywhere else during law school.
MAC does a very good job of teaching how to talk to judges as normal people, which at times can be daunting. Any experience with MAC helps reduce the imposter syndrome feeling because you have done it before. Even if it’s simulated practice, you have already argued an issue before Superior Court Judges, and it sets the foundation as a practicing attorney.
