I arrived, unannounced, at Mercer Law on an afternoon in 2007 and asked for a tour. I was 34 years old and leaving my career as a hospice/long-term care nurse. Dean Powell in admissions walked me through the school and at the end, I had this overwhelming feeling of “this is where I belong.” I applied for admission and the Woodruff Scholarship, and both were granted. After three years of exceptional legal training and countless memories with lifelong friends, I went home to Kentucky where I’ve practiced nursing home abuse and medical malpractice litigation for the last 12 years. I still fight for my patients. I’m a trial lawyer thanks to Mercer Law.
