Peg McCann retires after 18 years of service to Mercer Law
Please join us in celebrating the retirement of Peg McCann, who concluded a distinguished 18-year tenure at Mercer Law in June.
A native of Williamsburg and Colonial Heights, Virginia, McCann earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Georgia and completed her legal studies at William & Mary and UGA Law. Before joining Mercer in 2008, she served as a law clerk, prosecutor, television news reporter, legal writing faculty at UGA Law, and regional counsel for Kentucky’s Cabinet for Health and Family Services. At Mercer she served as co-director of the LL.M. in Criminal Practice and Procedure and director of Academic Success, guiding generations of students in research, writing, and trial skills. Roles at Mercer Law included in career services and with student affairs.
McCann says the most satisfying parts of her career have been serving justice in the courtroom and watching students grow. We are grateful for her leadership, mentorship, and steadfast service, and we wish her a joyful retirement.
