Dean's Message November 2024
November is a time to express gratitude. I am grateful for the Mercer Law School community. In my 19 years as a member of this community I have appreciated the support, encouragement, and wisdom that is freely shared and given.
November began with homecoming which brought an opportunity to connect students, alumni, staff, and faculty. From classes gathering for reunions (including a terrific reunion of the Class of 1974) to students taking a respite from studying, we were able to enjoy sunshine and laughter on Mercer’s Black Field.
Homecoming reminds us to recognize everyone in our community. We are delighted to announce the 2025 alumni award recipients. We are also delighted to recognize those who make an impact outside and inside the Law School. You will learn of the many contributions of The Honorable Yvette Miller who is been a trailblazer and model for many. You will also learn more about a critical member of the Law School community Director of IT Chris Osier who provides expertise and a calming influence, which is especially needed as we prepare to end the fall semester later this month.
We celebrate our highest first-time Georgia Bar Exam pass rate in over a decade and national recognition in advocacy competition. We also recognize that these significant accomplishments are a result of hours of dedication in the classroom and late-night study sessions.
As you read these stories, I hope you will recognize your accomplishments and seek to recognize those around you.
Best wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving!
