Dear Mercer Law School Alumni and Friends:
One of my favorite things about being Dean is the privilege of hearing from alumni about the ways in which their lives and those of others have been enhanced by the legal education they received at Mercer. These stories convey a powerful message about the impact of education and of the work that lawyers do. They also remind me of the importance of ensuring that Mercer Law continues to offer its distinctive form of legal education for years to come.
Mercer Law School has a proud legacy of innovation, excellence, and service, and it is building upon that legacy to meet current challenges faced by the legal profession.
Our faculty and staff are leading the way in developing curriculum, pedagogy, and research that moves the profession forward while staying true to our historical identity as a place that values personal interaction, skills training, and ethics and professionalism.
The following pages describe the Law School’s campaign, Advancing the Legacy, and the ways in which you can participate in it. The campaign goals have been set in close consultation with alumni leadership. Meeting these goals will strengthen the Law School and ensure that future generations of graduates will be telling their own stories about the ways in which their Mercer legal education has made a difference to them and others.
I invite you to take a moment to read about the campaign, to think about how your Mercer Law experiences have enhanced your life, and to consider the role you can play in making those experiences possible for others. With your help, we can ensure a bright future for Mercer Law School.
Please join me in Advancing the Legacy.
Daisy Hurst Floyd, Dean and University Professor of Law and Ethical Formation
