Stephanie Powell earned a B.A., magna cum laude, from Oglethorpe University and a J.D., magna cum laude, from Mercer University School of Law, where she was a member of the Mercer Law Review and served as the Student Writing Editor.  Following her graduation from Mercer, Ms. Powell joined the Atlanta office of McKenna, Long & Aldridge (now Dentons US LLP) where she focused her practice on employee benefits and executive compensation.  She joined the Mercer Law School community in 2006, originally serving as Director of Financial Aid & Assistant Director of Admissions.  In 2011 she joined the Career Services Office as Assistant Dean.  Ms. Powell is admitted to the State Bar of Georgia and a member of the Macon and Atlanta Bar Associations.  She is active in the National Association for Law Placement (NALP), an organization dedicated to supporting legal career professionals, and was recently elected to serve as one of four southeastern regional representatives for a two-year term. She also frequently presents at the annual education conferences for NALP and has written several articles for its monthly publication. Currently, Ms. Powell is also serving on the alumni board for her undergraduate alma mater.
