Director of Admissions & Financial Aid
Leah Aiken serves as the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid. Ms. Aiken is an honor graduate of Mercer University. Twice graduating from Mercer with a Juris Doctorate (2011) from Mercer Law and a B.A. in International Affairs and Economics (2007) from Mercer University. During her time at Mercer, Ms. Aiken received many accolades and awards. The awards include: making the President’s and Dean’s list, winning several national championship awards at the National Model Arab League Competition, presenting papers before the Georgia Political Science Conference, placing in the semifinals of the Lawson Moot Court Competition, winning the intra-school mock trial competition and competing in and coaching multiple mock trial competition teams.
Before joining the senior staff at Mercer Law School, Ms. Aiken worked professionally as an economic impact researcher and writer for the Knight Foundation, a law clerk for the United States Attorney’s Office in the Middle District of Georgia, and a law clerk for a private criminal defense firm.
As the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, Ms. Aiken is a member the Georgia Bar, Macon Bar, Macon YLD, and Houston County Bar. Leah was secretary of YLD for three years and is an active member of NASFAA, SASFAA, Access Lex, and is an active member in the LSAC community. Ms. Aiken has presented at Access Group Educational Conference, and other online educational courses through Fed Loan Services for financial aid administrators.
Hailing originally from Centerville, Georgia, the Aiken’s now call Kathleen, Georgia home. Leah, her husband Greer (Mercer Law class of 2010), and their two children, Walker and Bo, enjoy spending time together as a family, swimming, cooking, and attending their local church. Leah is active in the community and often volunteers her legal services for Robins Airforce Base, the Middle Georgia Food Bank, One Way Ministries, and teaches Sunday school and children’s church.
