Judge J. Taylor Phillips, ’55, died at age 90 in Macon, Georgia on Friday, June 15, 2012. Prior to his role as senior judge for the state court of Bibb County, Phillips served with the U.S. Marine Corps and earned a Purple Heart. He also served as a state representative and a state senator before becoming a Bibb County judge in 1964. In February of this year, Bibb commissioners voted to name the courthouse in honor of Phillips.
