The Frederick Douglass Moot Court team, consisting of Antoine Bostic (3L) and Clayton Eichelberger (2L), won second runner up out of over 100 teams across the nation at the 43rd Annual NBLSA Convention. After winning second runner up in the Southern Region of the National Black Law Students Association held in Raleigh in January, the team advanced to the National Competition in Houston during March 9-13, 2011. This is the third year in a row that Mercer Law BLSA has been awarded for their outstanding performance at the regional and/or national levels in the Frederick Douglass Moot Court Competition. The Frederick Douglass Competition is a completely student-run moot court competition by the National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA). This year’s team was coached by Louise Emeagi-Smith and Christi Thornton, the 2009-2010 Frederick Douglass team.
