Trent Brown, ’99, appointed as new judge for Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit

Georgia Governor Nathan Deal appointed Judge Enis Trenton “Trent” Brown III, ’99, as the next Macon Judicial Circuit judge. Brown currently serves as the judge of Putnam County State Court.  Brown was appointed to fill a Superior Court judgeship created by the resignation of Judge John Lee Parrot. Georgia’s Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit encompasses Baldwin, Greene, Hancock, Jasper, Jones, Morgan, Putnam, and Wilkinson counties.

Jessica Moss, ’84, appointed as new Solicitor-General for Cherokee County

Georgia Governor Nathan Deal recently tapped Jessica Moss, ’84, to be the new Solicitor General in Cherokee County. Moss currently serves as the Chief Assistant Solicitor General for Cobb County. Moss will replace Mercer Law Alumnus David Cannon Jr., ’95, who resigned the post and was elected July 31 to the Blue Ridge Circuit Superior Court.

Greer Aiken, ’10, Named as New Director of Development

The Law School today welcomed Greer Aiken as the newest member of its senior staff. Aiken will serve as the Law School’s Director of Development. A 2010 cum laude graduate of the Law School, he comes to his new position after two years as an associate with the Macon law firm of James-Bates-Brannan-Groover-LLP. In announcing the appointment, Dean Simson praised Aiken as “an exceptionally able and personable individual, who has compiled an enviable record of success in college, law school, and practice.” Dean Simson added that “with Greer and our still relatively new Director of Alumni Affairs and Associate Director of Development, Leslie Cadle, we have an advancement team that will prove a major asset for the Law School and enable us to reach new heights.”

Mercer Alumna Theresa Critchfield, LAW ’05, BBA ’02, joins Husch Blackwell

Husch Blackwell LLP recently welcomed Theresa L. Critchfield to the firm’s Chattanooga, Tenn., office as an Associate, where she will focus her practice in the area of Insolvency.

Critchfield received both her undergraduate and law degree from Mercer University and served as a Mercer Ambassador. She currently serves as a member of the Walter F. George School of Law Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Alumnus Henry Walker,’86, Named Managing Partner of Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton

Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced June 6, 2012 that Henry Walker, ’86, will serve as a firm Managing Partner with current firm Managing Partner Maureen Sheehy beginning July 1, 2012.

A native Georgian, Walker is active in the State Bar of Georgia, currently serving on the Board of Governors and numerous committees. He is a member of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and serves as the Vice Chair of the Georgia Chamber's Law and Judiciary Committee.
