Each summer several first and second year students are selected as fellows in the program. Council on Legal Education Opportunity Scholarships Mercer is an active participant and sponsor of both the National CLEO and Georgia Law School Consortium Fellowship programs. CLEO is a nonprofit project of the American Bar Association Fund for Justice and Education, dedicated to diversifying the legal profession by expanding legal education opportunities for members of underrepresented groups. The Georgia Law School Consortium Fellowship Program was created by the Supreme Court of Georgia and the law schools in Georgia. The goal of the Fellowship Program is to increase the number of low-income or educationally disadvantaged students in Georgia's law schools. Participants who are nominated and successfully complete the program may receive partial scholarships.
