Class,
Despite my (and your) best efforts to contain and avoid the flu bug, it has claimed me. I'm home with a 102 degree fever, so I've decided not to infect you and cancel class tomorrow. I will post next week's assignment as soon as I am able, but you can safely assume that we will do tomorrow's assignment on Monday. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Stay well,
Dick Creswell |

Torts Sections 2, 3, 6 All assignments referred to by page numbers are in the casebook, Prosser, Wade, & Schwartz, TORTS -- CASES AND MATERIALS (11th ed.). Read and study all assigned text; read closely and brief all cases. I strongly suggest that you do not attempt to read ahead, but do each class assignment the evening before the class so you can incorporate the learning of the previous class in your preparation. Monday, 8/24: Read carefully two handouts -- Course Requirements and Briefing Torts Cases. Both are posted on the Torts Course Page and hard copies are available on the handout box in the third floor faculty area. Read and brief cases on pp. 1-16 (This Chapter and this days class is about the Historical Development of Liability Based Upon Fault). Tuesday, 8/25: Brief cases on pp. 20-23; 30-33; 42-44 (a review of the law of tortious intent, assault, battery, & false imprisonment). Wednesday, 8/26: pp. 50-57. Thursday, 8/27: pp. 57-66 + Two Types of Issues in Torts Cases (handout). Note that the original assignment mistakenly listed p. 65 as the last page of the assignment. Mr. Creswell |
