Then complete Part Three of the Substitute Problems, which covers Chapters 37 and 19C. Assignment for Wednesday, November 18 In class, we will discuss the questions on the semester review assignment that was handed out in class and posted to the Course Page. In preparation for this discussion, complete the problems on the semester review assignment. Also read the instruction page for your final exam that also was handed out in class and posted to the Course Page. Any questions you have about the exam instructions can be answered in class today or via email. FEDERAL INCOME TAXATION WEEK ONE Assignment for Tuesday, August 25: In our text, read pages 4 through 8. Assignment for Wednesday, August 26: Read through the facts as to TP on page 1 of the Introductory Problem (a hand-out), which was distributed in class on Tuesday and which has also been posted to the course page. Next, look at the road map on page 2. Then examine the sections of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) listed, in the order listed. Next, study the example done for VTP in the Sample Calculation on the federal income tax imposed on her under IRC section 1(c). You may access the Introductory Problem on the course page or obtain a copy in the handout area on the third floor. Also review the Federal Income Tax - General Instructions for the Course, which were passed out in class on Tuesday and may also be found on the course page and in the handout area on the third floor. Assignment for Thursday, August 27: Calculate the federal income tax imposed under IRC section 1(c) on TP in the fact pattern given on page 1 of the Introductory Problem(a hand-out), which was distributed in class on Tuesday and which has also been posted to the course page. You may access it there or obtain a copy in the handout area on the third floor. Also, in our text, study pages 9 - 20. Then read the 10 parts of the Problem on pages 1 and 2 of our text.
