A large part of our esteemed reputation in the realm of law and legal studies has come as a result of the work done through our law school centers and special programs. These centers and programs distinguish the Mercer School of Law, provide an exceptional academic and professional resource to students, and deliver important services to the legal community as well as to Macon.

Center for Legal Ethics and Professionalism
Mercer’s Center for Legal Ethics and Professionalism seeks to engage members of the bench and bar, students, faculty, and the surrounding community with outreach educational activities and services designed around improving professionalism in students, lawyers, and judges.

National Criminal Defense College (NCDC)
The National Criminal Defense College, a not-for-profit organization, was formed in 1985 and works in coordination with the Mercer School of Law. The NCDC presents seminars and conducts the Summer Trial Practice Institute at the Walter F. George School of Law.

Joint Programs in Law and Business at Mercer
Mercer University is pleased to announce the options of a joint J.D./M.B.A. program or the option for law students to obtain a certificate in business from the Stetson School of Business and Economics while enrolled in Walter F. George School of Law. While the University has offered such programs in the past, this new offering can be completed in three years, fulfilling the degree requirements of both professionally accredited programs. Legal Writing Institute
The Legal Writing Institute was brought to Mercer School of Law in recognition of our renowned Legal Writing Certificate Program, a first-of-its-kind program that effectively emphasizes the importance of the skill of writing and the ability to conduct legal research at the highest levels.
