One hundred forty six students representing 70 undergraduate institutions, 33 undergraduate majors and an array of professional backgrounds have joined Mercer Law School as the Class of 2017. First year students spent three days in orientation and one full week in an Intro to the Study of Law class to help prepare for their next three years in Law School.
The class is comprised of 23 percent students of color, 51 percent women, four veterans, and three eagle scouts. Students range in age from 21 to 38, with the average age being 25.
Numerous students have backgrounds in philanthropic and nonprofit service including volunteer and work experience with the Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Crisis Line/Safe House, Guardian AdLitem, among many others.
