Dean's Message
Welcome to Mercer University’s Walter F. George
School of Law. Choosing a law school is a difficult, but significant, decision
for your future. I urge you to consider the kind of community you want to
join: what law school offers the best fit for you and what you care about?
At Mercer, you’ll find a close working
relationship between faculty, students, and staff, united in a common
goal.
You’ll find the innovative Woodruff Curriculum
that provides the intellectual depth and essential skills for practicing
law.
You’ll find rich ethics discussions that
infuse all three years of study, and a collaborative, supportive environment.
You’ll find an accessible faculty who
excel at legal scholarship and at teaching, and who mentor students
in and out of the classroom.
You’ll find an interesting and diverse
student body of approximately 420, whose small size reflects a commitment
to individual attention.
You’ll find strong ties to the bench and
bar, and an alumni base that includes leaders of the profession, the
nation, and the world.
You’ll find all of this in a building
that blends historic beauty with contemporary technology and resources,
located in a beautiful, affordable
city just a short drive from the beach, the mountains, and the city of
Atlanta.
At Mercer we believe that becoming a lawyer is a journey
toward discovering your calling, and that being a lawyer is a path to
personal fulfillment
and service to others.
We invite you to become part of our community.
